About the Author

While most author-historians focus on either American or regional histories, what makes my writing unique is that I view American history in the larger context of world affairs. The result is the discovery of patterns of cause and effect that are as important today as they were then. As Solomon said, “ . . . there is nothing new under the sun.” Across the millennia, all the machinations of justice, tyranny, and passion have been played out. We know what worked, what did not, and the all important why. More than any previous generation, we have no excuse if we are misled. My role is to describe the lessons from these patterns so you will find the cracks in today’s false narratives, project the future consequences of today’s actions and improve your quality of life and the Republic as our Founders intended. This is what I write about- the connections of the past that presage our current and future world. My work belongs in the non-fiction, history section. I hope you enjoy and benefit from my work.

A Heritage Lost is an Identity Stolen, for Someone Decided Not to Tell You Who You Are

My Approach

My Approach

I write as Christian intellectual, not because of birth or doctrine, but from a pursuit of truth.  This carries into my work. As any good researcher, I maintain an open mind and go where the data takes me. As a result, I never know what the final outcome of my work will be.  This is more than just a process. It’s a promise to explore topics from many perspectives and search out the middle ground where the truth is likely to be.  It is what the great intellectuals of the past have done.  That process, refined over a thousand years, is the approach I bring to my audience.

I focus on epic topics that span secular and Christian perspectives to solve questions whose answers have enduring value.  I  employ three criteria to guide my work so it is worthy of a place on your bookshelf, to be shared for the benefit of others. First of all, I strive to entertain my audience.  Second, I invite the reader to new perspectives on the familiar.  Lastly, I seek to provide practical insight that benefits every reader.

Bio

Bio

With degrees in Engineering Physics and a Doctorate in Leadership Studies, I became an inspired student of Neil Howe.  My work on historical analysis was awarded outstanding research by Regent University. As a Scientist Consultant and a former Economics Professor, I have enjoyed a broad career in economics, technology, and foreign policy studies. For the past 15 years, I have turned these passions to American history and historical patterns to project the outcomes of today’s events for the benefit of a wider audience.  A homeschool father of two, when not on the East Coast,  I travel the country mapping the generational trails of pioneering families, recording the stories of their westward expansion  - A “Spoon River Anthology” of a nation.

If You Like These Authors

If You Like These Authors

If you like James Burke’s “Connections,” you will love “The Search for a Just Republic” series.  I connect the cause of liberty across three-thousand years that culminated in the founding of the United States much like “Connections” did for technological advances.

If you like American Christian historian, David Barton, you will love “The Search for a Just Republic” as it proves that the path to liberty is a foundation of Biblical Christianity in society.

If you like Jordan Peterson for his structured intellectual reasoning for faith, you will like “The Search for a Just Republic” for its logic and reasoning behind the foundations of Christianity that drove the pursuit of freedom.

What would our Founding Fathers say about gun control, national healthcare, social justice,  the war on terrorism, or the separation between Church and State?  We know the answers by what they wrote, what they were taught, the books they read, and the influential men who shaped their thinking.

The Search for a Just Republic Volume I
Tracing the Tenets of Liberty from the Roman Empire to America's Founding
The Search for a Just Republic cover 2.jpg

Where does American history begin? Where did the concepts and circumstances behind our foundational documents originate? Answering this question reveals the forgotten key to renewing our liberties and who we are as a nation.

Tracing the tenets of liberty from the Roman Empire to the American Founding, Dr. Robert James takes us on a historical rollercoaster across 3,000 years of the greatest heroes, intellects, and villains of Western Civilization to see the world, then and today, through the eyes of our Founding Fathers.   It is, perhaps, the greatest story never told.

The Search for a Just Republic Volume II
To End Man's Propensity to Enslave

Exploring St. Augustine’s observation of mankind’s propensity for slavery, Dr. James traces America’s 1,200-year slavery odyssey. The journey  crosses four continents beginning with our Founders’ view of Islam, its contribution to the Americas’ slave trade, and the Founders’ commitment, and the subsequent generation’s treason  that ignited the Civil War.  It is the story of twenty-two generations of heroes who defended freedom and ultimately brought America back from the brink of its demise.   It is the story of the confluence of Islam and the American Civil War as it’s never been told.

Lead by Knowing the Future
Attaining Epic Leadership Across All Generations

Utilizing written prose of the last 300 years, Dr. Robert James reveals new and practical  insights into the cross-generational leader-follower dyadic. The result enables cross-generational reconciliation of families, better business positioning in evolving markets, predicts social trends, technology waves, and foreign policy changes decades in advance. Furthermore, anyone can attain the influence of epic leadership across all generations in any society. Rigorously peer reviewed, awarded for most important research from Regent University with twenty years of validation “Lead by Knowing the Future” may be one of the most significant advances in leadership studies of the last 60 years.
